DNN Security
DotNetNuke Provides various security mechanisms for protection of your website.
Built In Administration Accounts
There are two basic built-in accounts. These are Host and Administrator and these accounts allow for the administration of a DNN portal.
Host:
The Host has access to a list of all hosted sites and their individual hosting information, and the ability to edit, modify, or delete a specific site.
Administrator :
This account is available on a per portal basis and allows the user to manage settings related to their own individual site. The Administrator may modify settings specific to their own site however the administrator has no access to other sites operating under the same host.
Security Roles :
Administrators can define and assign roles for different user groups, such as registered users, subscribers, content providers, affiliates, media, etc. They can then grant access and editing rights for each group. These rights can be assigned to the entire site, a single page, or even to an individual module on a specific page. Individual users may belong to more than one group. Administrators can also establish separate password-protected areas to control access
Protected Content
: All site content can be protected using the built-in DNN security settings.
